Schedule III & DEA Registration:

Opportunity or Obstacle For Missouri LIcensees?

With cannabis moving to Schedule III, MO operators face a decision with no clear answer: should they seek DEA registration? Registration may offer federal legitimacy, research access, and a path into a more mainstream market. It also brings new compliance obligations, DEA inspections, and questions about how federal oversight will interact with state programs, especially comprehensive or dual use programs like Missouri. Early signs suggest the approach may differ across states and DEA field offices, and that registration may affect medical and adult-use operators differently.

This panel brings together our state's leading regulator, legal experts and MoCann leaders/licensees to discuss what registration actually involves, what operators are hearing in the field, and how businesses can weigh the opportunity against the risk. Attendees will come away with a clearer picture of the federal landscape and practical questions to ask before deciding whether to register, move forward with an existing registration or potentially bow out.
